I am a therapist who understands that everyone’s mind works differently.

When you know your mind works differently from other people, you need a therapist whose mind works differently too. I believe that counseling is a collaboration between client and therapist. I combine traditional therapy techniques (CBT, DBT, etc.) with the knowledge that each client brings about themselves to help them create the best rest of their lives. Humor, feedback, support, skill building and education are all used in this collaboration. Warning: I give homework! I use lots of humor in therapy. I pride myself on being kind but I’m also very real. I rescue not only mammals but bugs and bees too. I’m an elder goth and have a passion for listening to music. I am always rooting for the underdog. Being a "pre-elder", I've led many chapters of my life and have learned from every single one (even the cringey ones). It has taught me to focus on what is truly valuable and fulfilling and how to be comfortable just being me. I hope these things are cultivated in the therapeutic relationship with clients. My own neurospiciness allows me to connect with others that experience the world in a different way than neurotypical folks do, and my live for animals and kindness makes therapy with HSPs, empaths, introverts and animal people more connected as well.
